Helping Our Neighbors in Need
Hunger touches every community in the United States. More than 61% of households in Lake County have incomes at 200% or below the national poverty level. Many families are living on the edge; many must make the difficult choice between purchasing food for their family or paying for other necessary resources such as housing, utilities, health care and more.
The Neighborhood Center of South Lake provides healthy foods; such as fresh produce, frozen meats, breads, and other essential nourishing foods. We touch many lives every day. In 2023 TNC provided more than 1.8 million pounds of food to 22,410 families / 88,383 individuals, helping them sustain their families, and keeping them nourished, housed, and healthy.
The Neighborhood Center of South Lake is more than a food pantry, we are a Family Stability Center and work holistically with clients and partners, to help families change their future. We are proud to be one of the few designated Nutritious Food Pantries in Central Florida.

Donate Food
The Neighborhood Center of South Lake (TNC) is a designated 501c3 organization and operates entirely on donations. Time, Talent, and Treasure are equally important to fulfill our mission. 82% of all the food we provide to families is donated by our Grocery Alliance Partners, Second Harvest Food Bank, Community Partners, Small Businesses, and Individuals; the rest we must purchase.
We are lucky enough to have access to food at a reduced cost through Second Harvest Food Bank. This fills the food gap between the generosity of our supporters and the needs of the community. For every $1 donated to the Center we provide $9 worth of food to a family in need.

Partnership Opportunities:
Community Partners
“Be the Change you wish to see in the world”
– Mahatma Gandhi
Our Community Partners represent businesses, clubs, neighborhoods, and organizations who believe as we do, that No One Should Go Hungry. Together, they are a force that raises money, and awareness; organizes food drives, events, volunteer groups, and more to support the Neighborhood Center. TNC clients benefit from their efforts, but each group enjoys benefits too; camaraderie, fun times, and a united purpose.
Whether organizing a food drive, a fundraiser or investing in our mission through community grants, we are fortunate to be the chosen non-profit of these incredible partners. Thank You!
Corporate Partners
A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.
– Henry Ford
Corporate engagement creates a positive impact for people within the in the communities they operate.
- It strengthens customer relationships, increases corporate visibility, and enhances employee morale. Whether through a corporate sponsorship or grant, volunteering or events, you start a chain of positive goodwill that resonates throughout the community.
- When your company (large or small) partners with the Neighborhood Center of South Lake, you align with the largest food pantry in South Lake County: a mission that strengthens the foundation of community, and dedicated people who believe in giving back.
We work with our corporate partners to help meet a triad of goals: 1.Your Company’s community mission and goals,
2.The Neighborhood Center’s Goals,
3.and the needs of the Community.

Faith Partners
It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.
– Mother Teresa
Over five decades ago, a very special group of six women from First United Methodist Church of Clermont were volunteering in their church and decided they could do more to help our neighbors in need.
Their compassion and kindness started this mission of care that continues today. Our many Faith Partners are an important part of their legacy, helping The Center serve the most vulnerable through donations, food drives, volunteering and referrals about our programs.
