Donate Food

The Neighborhood Center of South Lake (TNC) is a designated 501c3 organization and operates entirely on donations. Time, Talent, and Treasure are equally important to fulfill our mission. 75% of all the food we provide to families is donated by our Grocery Alliance Partners, Second Harvest Food Bank, Community Partners, Small Businesses, and Individuals; the rest we must purchase.

We are lucky enough to have access to food at a reduced cost through Second Harvest Food Bank. This fills the food gap between the generosity of the community and the needs of the community. When deciding what type of food to donate, please consider the following:

TNC can accept:

  • Unopened
  • Unspoiled
  • In unbroken/undamaged packaging
  • Within its "use by-or sell by" date
  • Properly Labeled
  • Commercially made and packaged foods that are subject to the US Dept of Agriculture Food Safety Standards

TNC cannot accept:

  • Damaged, Unpackaged Foods
  • Left Overs - we provide groceries, not meals
  • Homemade foods and baked goods
  • Frozen or Refrigerated Items from unlicensed vendors or individuals
